Her professor works up, one of the first things he said— disregarding that " oh rake" line; which was oddly enough, how she had been blacked out. Was exactly what she needed to hear, it just made her face light up in a second as she glanced over at the poor woman in the elaborate attire: —“ H-hannah?” Hm, the Hannah from the game.. Now she knew who she was for sure, and her head thought back to the basement; blurry as it was— it remembered her wearing anything but the dress. Same with Geoff, who looked awfully familiar, seen him before all this… —" This isn't my first rodeo with...THEM...This...is my third."— The first game, Hannah was the winner of something that— Made her look like she came back from a wedding, this is the third ‘ game’? With both Geoff and Silvio (who had real good humor, not being sarcastic) addressing ‘ someone’ as they and them. In context, that meant the ‘ bad guy’. A small smile appeared as Carmen placed her finger on the table, moving it up and down so she could keep track of her thoughts. » Matching attire
» Games » Hannah being the winner on some russian roulette game— —" I’m Cece." And her train of thought was interrupted by the same girl who she saw four months ago, well that was frustrating. She looked at her, hear her lie about what she did and then... Talk to her? More like whisper. —" We can probably agree that we both would prefer different company, but... Let's put our differences aside for this. Deal?"— Carmen looked at her, she knew they were all in the same boat and... Well, someone talking isn’t really their fault. This was an introductory part of the game after all. So, smiling softly at it. “Deal.” Smiling as she looked back, but to her surprise, a minor observation really did put things into perspective. " Are you two... Married? And.. You were in a game before?" Giving a big smile, “Congratulations on the literal shotgun wedding.” Sarcastically cooing out the words, the wedding attire; Hannah was the winner of some wedding. Wow. She looked at Cece and gave a grateful smile as she looked back at her drunken professor. Remembering most of the people in her class joking about him being light-weight but.. Guess she could see the extent of it in real time. Whilst the food could have been poisoned, it would’ve been old; because cyanide wouldn’t be absorbed by the cheese. Only thing she could think of under the list of poisonous substances. Look, she was a detective who did a small toxicology module as part of her criminology degree, didn’t mean she was a toxicology or food specialist. Hannah sweetly showed her concern, Carmen looked at the groom softly. “Read about what happened back their.” Smiling sadly, “It’s really not your fault.” Seemed like both Cece and the professor were keen on eating. But— now that she knew what happened, she was pretty content. «—Now on the present.—» After all, dwelling on the past would be way too problematic and unnecessary, she leaned back in the chair and looked up and back down. “Isn’t it just great that one or more of us could just... Die, once this is over..” All because of needing to have people properly matched up, she just sounded frustrated but quiet at the same time; audible but quiet, her eyes shooting glares as she sat up. “.. All because of a deck of cards.” She looked down, her card was turned back so it was just a blank sheet of white and then eyed the rest of them. Very, very attentively. A classic interrogation trick, but just without the questioning. But she really had to question herself right now, first letting a criminal get away with lying and Geoff still being a forced accomplice in a game, she’d always describe herself in four simple words, «—“ I’m lawful, not nice.”—» Now she was the opposite all together, situations Carmen. Situations. Because this wasn’t normal.

Post by Dean Gray on May 22, 2020 13:04:49 GMT
Dean was sitting back with a glass of wine in his hand when the man in a tuxedo started talking. Huh, rodeo with them three times? It seemed like penguin over here was more experienced than it seemed. Good for him. Might be a good ally to have. God knows he needs more of them. Dean zoned out as the other people started talking. He wasn't good with crowds, so that was a skill he'd learned quickly to cope with them. The cheese was... edible, the crackers were dry, and the wine was passable. He wouldn't be so pompous as to pretend he could taste whether the wine was from this grape or that grape, or whatever country it was from, but it was passable, so he drank it. He assumed that they wouldn't risk their labrats dying, and as such any food that were put in front of them would under most circumstances be safe.
When he was eating, he heard the name Geoff, which caused him to blink and focus on the conversation again. What did he miss? He eyed the people and spotted the one mentioning his name. The woman in the wedding dress was still speaking, and he made sure to not miss any words.
"...messed up. Geoff and I have been forced to do things that we do not condone and were very lucky to still be here as it could have been much worse."
She was silent afterwards, looking at a woman, smiling, before turning her eyes to the man beside him. The man in the Tuxedo, the Penguin. Judging by the fact that he was the only one able to be classified as tall and dark among them, and the fact that this woman in the matching attire looked at him after talking about Geoff, it was rather clear who the man was. Dean furrowed his brow, edging over to the opposite side of the seat, while taking another sip of the wine. Geoff...
The woman two seats over was speaking. "Congratulations on the literal shotgun wedding" Wow. The nerve of this man. One moment he aims a gun at innocent girls, some of whom he knows, then the next he gets married? What sort of sick person was this? "Isn't it just great that one or more of us could just... die, once this is over... All because of a deck of cards." The words of the blonde echoed in the back of his mind as he further focused on Geoff. Okay, fuck it, he was going to say it:
"I don't know, we could ask Geoff." He said, over his shoulder while still keeping his eyes locked on Geoff. "So how about you tell us Geoff, what happens if we don't pair up the Black Heart with the Red one? You going to pull out a gun and shoot us? Oh, but this time it's not going to be blanks? Oh oh, or maybe, just maybe, you'll scream at us? Woe be us for not following the rules of your sick game? Huh?"
Dean felt himself rising in the chair, but settled himself back down rather quickly. Even if he wanted to punch him, that wouldn't be wise. After all, if Dean was correct, Geoff likely held the reins to all of this.

"I don't know, we could ask Geoff." A man dressed like a hipster was staring daggers into Geoff. Huh?"
Nice try. If he said anything, tried to plead his case or gained pity, or even yelled at the guy to shut the fuck up, then both the kidnappers and Emer would win. That was the only person, maybe apart from that consultant Victor, that had some bad opinions. These had rubbed off to this fellow.
No.
This fire wasn't going to get stoked. If you give anything a fuel source without any proper control, it exploded. Geoff had things we wanted to say, but he didn't say them. Instead, he held up his hands, showing that there was no gun to be found. It had disappeared during one of the many blackouts and put them back down.

Belle watch as one man dig into the food like a wolf that didn't have an meal in months. She careful looked at the wine as she was use to have it being drug or something like that but she didn't have that special nail polish that could tell if it had drug in it.
She looked around as two people had matching outfit and the rest of the group had normal clothing on. "Okay that not odd" thought Belle. But how would they get the heart together without telling anyone your card, why are we kinda force to play childish games. "So does anyone have a idea on how we can get the hearts together" asked Belle as she thought that someone would have a idea.

Silvio turned tot he woman who had first been reading the note, Cece. That was a little odd name, but Silvio wouldn't judge it. He then just waited for others to also introduce themselves, but for his disappointment that did not happen. He frowned, had his introduction gone to deaf ears? This was the summer camp over again for real. Just like when he tried to introduce himself to the cool kids but his words just went to the deaf ears.
So he just quietly followed the discussion, feeling awkward, even more so when Dean pointed fingers at the man in a suit. He had no idea what truly had gone down, but it must have been something strange. Geoff could be one of them for sure, but he also may not be part of them. He also could have been part of them but was disgraced by the aliens or lizard shapeshifters.
"I've no idea." Silvio said, "Does anyone else..?"

"Sir , please be careful. We have no idea what might have happened with the food.." Hannah said with concern. Huxley gave a faint smile. “Thank you ma’am, but I’ve got it all under control, no need to worry.” But the professor did worry. He worried a lot. The wine helped calm his racing mind, but the thoughts just kept coming and coming. What does this all mean? What will happen to them if they don’t get the red and black heart together.? Black and red, red and black. His head started spinning, and in an effort to stop it he buried his head in his hands. What do I do? How can I help? What will happen? What will happen??!!
“Isn’t it just great that one or more of us could just... Die, once this is over..” No, no that can’t be true. They can’t die right? Not right now, not here, not because of this. The gentle buzzing turned to a loud unbearable buzzing noise. I shouldn’t drink, it just makes things worse. Why do they have to be here, why must they play this stupid game? Why did he have to be there exactly when the hooded figure was? Why did he have to end up in this situation? Why did he have such terrible terrible luck? Why why WHY?!
Huxley just wanted to curl up and cry. This was more than his heart could handle. Why me, why me. He barely heard someone accusing Geoff of having something to do with this. What did it matter, why does it matter? What if they all die here? Death doesn’t discriminate. It’s only a matter of time. It’s not a will they won’t they, it’s a when. When?? Now? Not now. It doesn’t even matter, but it does…
"So does anyone have a idea on how we can get the hearts together" he heard a female voice next to him. What kind of question is that? Why would she question him? The rules didn’t say how, or did they? He didn’t pay enough attention, he never does. "I've no idea. Does anyone else?” Stop it, why was everyone questioning him?? What did he ever do to them? What did he do? What was going to happen? What will happen? Stop it. Stop it.
“NO ONE KNOWS!!” Huxley shouted as he stood up slamming his hands on the table, staring at Silvio with a livid expression. The table shook, which made Huxley’s almost empty wine glass fall over. Thankfully it didn’t spill on anybody, it only tainted the table. The professor’s face gradually became terrified, as he saw Silvio’s and everyone else’s expression. His face bewildered, he slowly sat back down. “I-I’m sorry…” he muttered, the professor rarely lost his temper. He sank into himself hiding his face with his hands. He wanted to say more, apologize better, but he just..couldn’t. This was too much.

CeCe was relieved that Carmen accepted the "deal". Carmen would probably arrest CeCe the moment they got out of there, but at least something. "Good.", CeCe nodded.
Then Carmen and a black haired guy started going off on Geoff. Something was clearly wrong with that guy. What did he do? All the people making comments seemed so weird. Why did almost everyone know more than CeCe? She certainly didn't feel weird, confused and out of place easily. Especially, since she avoided having contact with so many people at the same time. And on top of that: It was about survival. So they couldn't simply not cooperate.
"So does anyone have a idea on how we can get the hearts together", Belle asked. CeCe felt bad for a moment. She seriously missed her own roommate in all this chaos and talking. "I've no idea.", Sylvio said. "Does anyone else..?"
“NO ONE KNOWS!!”, the Professor suddenly shouted. “I-I’m sorry…” , he muttered afterwards. The man really surprised CeCe and she looked at him, her eyes widened and with a raised eyebrow. That escalated qui-...Well actually it didn't.. it was about time..
"I don't know, Belle. But I mean hearts? Circles like..maybe rings? Five men, five women? A married couple? Maybe men and women should pair up?" , CeCe said, looking at everyone at a time and then just stared at her glass of wine.

Gregory listening to all the dialogue, but he was silent all the time. The old man trying to understand what happens with all of these people.
"We can probably agree that we both would prefer a different company, but... Let's put our differences aside for this. Deal?" - said the black hair. How is her name? Seems he head Cece. That was true. there is no time for personals conflict, panic, or just abusing. They need to work together.
-"Young lady, do you want some wine? As you can see, I'm still alive and also this man, who eagerly ate all the cheese, too. It's calm down you."
Here was the Geoff, that man that he knows. Also this young man helped him, when Greg woke up in the basement. The old man didn't thank him and didn't know how to do it now when all talking about what torture they were met. It seems that he only was in a comfortable room without any trouble. YET!
-"This isn't my first rodeo with...THEM...This...is my third. All I can say is, we have no choice...if we want to walk away still standing." Oh god, seams that this man survived a lot and his trembling hands and voice were real clue about this. Greg even experienced pride for him, because Geoff tried to be stronger, that he can and... The old man noticed how he worried about Hanna. Someone said that they a married couple now? Even if this marriage were just a game for kidnaper, maybe they were really like a perfect pair. In his eyes was worries, but not only for himself. Ah, why all those people met and become closer in such a bad situation?
"So does anyone have an idea on how we can get the hearts together?" Quietly asked the women voice. But only one this sentence caused a panic among people.
- Please! Try to not panic! I think, miss Cece right about the meaning of the symbols. That means, we need to find a couple, who needs this DATE! So we need to pair up and be careful to not choose wrong~

They’d been talking for a while now. Maybe a bit more than she’d expected considering the circumstances. Some cacophony, a few strong words here and there, but overall, everyone was following the rules. Good. Play along, get to know each other, socialize, and above all, don’t cheat. That’s what they needed to do, or…
She closed her eyes for a second. This must go well. It HAD to.
Bare feet rubbed against each other, subtly enough not to be seen, as to wipe the nervousness away. Just like she was watching the video feed, she could feel eyes on her, a figure towering over her frail body, and she braced herself. They couldn’t disappoint, but neither could she. She would outdo herself this time, she’d resolved.
At last the signal came, and she straightened her posture, hands folded behind her back humbly. It was time. A button was pushed, and all conversations were interrupted by the loud distortion of the speakers above their heads. "Enough!" the young female voice that some of them had grown to know thundered above them in a loud but calm manner. "Please, pick your partner.” A short yet heavy pause followed, before the woman added a low and powerful: "Now."
[!] Now, after the signal you need to pick yourself a partner by picking up one of the color-coded bracelets and suggesting another person to pick one of the same color: – In your post your character will pick a bracelet and ask another character who you want to pair up with a question if they want to pair up - they can either agree or refuse;
– If they agree - you form a pair; if you refuse - you need to suggest another character at the table to pair up with you and wait for their reply;
– People who are already in pairs can exchange their bracelets/places with somebody else again by suggesting it from the character POV in their post BEFORE you finalize (by that I mean before everybody will have somebody paired up with, so you should have at least ONE person who didn't pair up with anybody to do so) the pairs
– You will have a limit of posts before which you should finalize this decision - 25 posts PAIRS: Gregory & Carmen
Lydia & Huxley
Silvio & Isabelle
Geoff & Hannah
Cece & Dean

Oh shit... people were panicking. Gosh... how was Lydia supposed to deal with that? Think... think... Before she could say anything else, a voice came from above.
"Enough!" the young female voice that some of them had grown to know thundered above them in a loud but calm manner. "Please, pick your partner.” A short yet heavy pause followed, before the woman added a low and powerful: "Now."
"Alrighty then..." She mumbled under her breath and took a red bracelet. The redhead looked around the room, making direct eye contact with the only person she really knew. "Hey, Hux... wanna pair up?"

Post by Geoff Alen on May 22, 2020 20:53:10 GMT
Stress levels went from about a five to maybe a ten in a matter of seconds. A young woman asked how they knew who had the hearts. Professor Weisenbachfeld stopped eating to cry out that he didn't know and retreated into apologetic mode a moment after. Geoff could relate, He had done that when explaining what happened earlier. He had let his emotions get in the way. The fire from the hipster fellow calling him out was dying down as more people spoke up. "From my experience, the person behind this is a 'matchmaker', hence why Hannah and I are, ahem, overdressed. There was a...wedding based on what the cards, or in our case a bullet filled with confetti which I didn't know about. Then again, before all of this I thought this was some elaborate escape room with some kind of ghost bride theme..."
Get to the point, dumbass
"...That being said, I agree with Greg and CeCe..."
Just as Geoff was going to continue his suggestion, the signal that Silvio had read about happened. That being a female voice.
"ENOUGH!"
So much for game plan. Then again, this was a game involving either life/death or bizarre matchmaking, not a volleyball match with the Badass Roosters. There were only two people that he knew and trusted in the group. If his theory was to be believed as well, one of them, would be his ticket out of here. But he felt guilt gnawing in his stomach. It wasn't fair for him to take the fall and take her with it. He reached for his favorite color, blue. His eyes shifted around. Well, if it was to continue this sick twisted game, so be it.
"Hannah, I know we've been through a lot, and I'm sorry that you got dragged into all of this. I truly am. It's your call if you want to pair with me or not. There will no hard feelings. I promise."

"Enough!" a young female voice said loudly and calmly "Please, pick your partner.” "Now."
CeCe just wanted to scream and, quite honestly, cry. Instead, she pulled herself together and took deep breaths to calm herself down. Faster than she would've thought, two out of ten bracelets were already picked and people were asked to be a partner. CeCe looked around, trying to make some sense out of that. What could they want? What pairs? One pair seemed obvious to CeCe, but she couldn't think of anyone here being a perfect match for her. Carmen and Isabelle were the only two she "knew" before this, but to pick a girl would be against her own theory. Come on, CeCe..... "I have... no idea...", CeCe said quietly and laughingly. She didn't want to be the last one standing and more bracelets to choose from made her feel better. "Hey.. Greg? You agreed with my theory about pairing up men and women and... I honestly don't wanna be the last one. What do you think? We could view it..or us.. as a pair of..future..friends?", CeCe said to the older man and gave him an insecure smile, "would yellow be okay for you?" CeCe put a yellow bracelet on and nervously waited for Greg's respond.

Dean watched as Geoff all but brushed him off. As if Dean was hardly worth his time. The nerve of him. He was going to challenge Geoff to pair up with him, but he had shortly after already chosen to pair up with his bride. Of course he did. He looked at the other people, having already grabbed some bracelets and talking to people for pairing up. Dean wondered what would be the wise move.
On one hand, if he waited till the end, he wouldn't have to make a choice. Whatever happened afterwards, it would be easy to digest for all people involved. On the other hand, he wouldn't get to make a choice. He sighed, and reached over the table for the pair of white bracelets. Alright. Time to make it difficult for people:
"Geoff. Quit the gentlemanly act. Take this and stick with me. If you're going to play sick games like this, at least pair yourself off with someone you don't know. Then again, I've heard you like aiming a gun at people you know, so perhaps this is par for the course."
Dean said this and put one of the white bracelets on the table right next to him, in front of Geoff. He looked at the man, trying to gauge his response.

Silvio was a little taken back by Huxley's sudden outburst, but he just brushed it off. "It's fine, don't worry about it." Silvio said, trying to smile, but he couldn't bring a smile to his face in this situation. But he didn't blame Huxley from exploding up, anyone would as this was far from an ideal situation to be. The man also already looked like he regretted it too.
Then, the voice told them to pair up, now. And quickly people did start to pair up soon, sticking with the theory of choosing someone of the opposite sex, or at least assumed opposite one. Silvio wasn't sure who to ask or if he should stick with that theory, Dean was the only one he knew well in here. Well, not well, but better than anyone else. Some of these knew Huxley, which must be comforting to have someone you know here. Or not, Silvio wouldn't want to see his family members here. Especially since all his siblings had kids, but he didn't know them well. What a great uncle he was, he couldn't even really recall anyone's name. One might have been Valentin or something.
Silvio then decided to take the initiative and pick the green bracelet, part of him wanted to ask Dean. But it couldn't be just a chance that there were five men and five women, it had to be a clue. Besides, Dean was trying to get paired up with Geoff. He glanced at the woman next to him, with a little awkward glance in his face. "Uh, I'm not sure if I caught your name, but do you want to pair with me? You don't have to of course." Silvio asked, looking at Carmen.

"Enough! Please, pick your partner.” Oh, here the signal, what was written in the note. That means he has no time for theories and he needs to decide.
The color of the bracelets looks like a wires of the bomb in the different auction of the movie. Only one mistake can make a big explosion and someone can die. He was silent most of the time, but it allows us to look around and watch out all people in the room. He tried to notice the small-signal that can help hem to understand where the right cards are hidden. The hands move, the eyes, words... Something that no one can notice.
Gregory just can't die right now. The old man needs so many things to do and he can't just leave his lovely Kim without his protection and father's love.
Greg didn't know most of the people and it was hard to team up with someone that you see just the first time. Only two persons caught his attention - the girls that looked like an angel and a demon. The black hair Cece with angel voice and a blonde woman with a devil eyes and passion name - Carmen. Cece was close to the meaning of the symbol and also she timidly asking about his help.
- "I'm sorry, miss. I hope my refuse will not so painful to you. I wanna ask miss Carmen about team-up. I understand that the all colors where chosen, but... I wanna hear your thoughts, miss Carmen!" Gregory held out his hand to the girl as a sign of respect.
