For a brief moment, Emer was too baffled by what she had found to remember that Geoff was in the room. She flipped through the bills and other sensitive information before stopping at a plastic bitch forcefully smiling through her operations and botox. Okay, that might be harsh, but Emer really didn't get along well with these sorts of people, and the message they sent to other girls angered her. None of that was important now, though.
"Weird place to put an envelope filled with possibly important details."
Emer jumped, having been lost in thought and now realizing he was now slightly closer than he'd been before. This seemed... like quite a massive find, and there was no way now to hide it from him. She'd been careless, taken the envelope out of the chest, and openly reading the bills. That face hadn't been cheap. So fake and rich, I'm sure this girl just has a lovely personality.
Realizing there was no way of hiding this information now, and realizing Geoff might only get mad if she tried, she tried flinging the polaroid his way so he could get a better look at it, only to see it awkwardly land face down half-way between them. Throwing paper never ever worked properly, she didn't understand how she never ever remembered that. She took a breath and went with plan B - picking up the photo and walking it to him. Brave face, Emmy.
"It's like it's all staged, nothing in this place has ever made sense. I still half expect it to be some sort of twisted escape room." After a couple of days here, that theory had seemed preposterous and embarassing, but now it was beginning to seem more and more likely. Who knew, maybe it was an escape room after all.
"I've got her credit card info, if you wanna go nuts on Amazon," she joked half-heartedly, as he looked at the photo she'd just handed him. "I'm guessing you don't know her either?"
