Oh, Madge did NOT look satisfied. She did not like how calm and uncompetitive those two acted! With squinted from anger eyes she gave an affirmative nod. It was time for the race to the finish line.
So when two more letters appeared on the piece of paper, the familiar gentle voice of the announcer boomed from the speakers: "If you want to get a random letter, please, state your wish out loud and..." the girl hesitated for a second, before continuing reading the new addition to the rules. "Leave a cut on your face. One scar - one addition letter will be revealed," the woman finished her speech in her monotone tone, before concluding, "Please, proceed."

Katherine looked at the screen and the E was there. Finally! So her letter started with A and e. Good ok she was getting somewhere. "If you want to get a random letter, please, state it out loud and..." Katherine looked up. She could get a chance with a random letter. Finally but she knew it would come at a price. "Leave a cut on your face. One scar - one addition letter will be revealed," She turned to Dorian. It was extreme but would he do it? Katherine bit her lip and then looked at the table. She noticed the butcher knife. She was never good at hangman and maybe this person wanted a little bit of fun.
Katherine walked over to the table and grabbed the knife. She looked at it, then to Dorian, then the projection then back at the knife. She sighed and walked over to stand in front of the screen. "I would like a random letter please." She placed the knife on her right cheek and then left a cut, it stung and she could feel blood running down her face. She put the knife in her left hand and used her right to wipe away the blood. Katherine looked at Dorian and smiled. At this point she didn't care. Katherine knew as soon as she was kidnapped that she would never be the same again.

The moment he heard the voice speak up, he could tell something bad was about to happen. They had played by the rules and done everything they were supposed to do, what could she possibly want from them now? What she wanted was to offer them an extra letter, against a prize: scarification. So you’re into that kind of stuff, uh? How kind of them. How very charming, too. Dorian looked back at his glass of wine, heaving a sigh of unconcealed disdain. He may not care much about his appearance, not more than his life, at least, but that did not mean he was going to reduce himself to a puppet in their hands at their first command. Hair was one thing, scars were another. Katherine, it seemed, thought otherwise, for she rather quickly got to her feet, grabbed the butcher knife (ah. So THAT’S why that thing was there) and walked over to the screen. He thought about grabbing her by the hand and advising her against it, but he did not want to try her luck doing something like that with her when she was armed and dangerous. Instead, he simply hissed her name under his breath in a warning, did she not realize she was going too hard too fast? But she made abstraction of him, and soon enough, blood was running down her cheek, as she turned to him with a vacant smile.
Almost as if waiting for him to take his turn. Dorian glanced down at the knife. If he did not want to cut himself before, he least of all wanted to do it now, when it was covered in her blood. Instead, he looked back at the screen. He had one word more than her, but unless they had been lied to, which wasn’t an impossibility, she would now get a letter guaranteed, which would make them once more equals. If he guessed right, he would still have one more letter; if he guessed wrong, they would be back at even ground. Was it truly worth injuring himself so soon? No, this was the time to be bold. Raising his head up, Dorian looked straight at the camera. Time to level the playing field. “Z.”

Two new letters appeared above the dashes, one in each word.

Still holding her cheek Katherine placed the knife down on the floor and waited to see if she had made the right choice. The hand once more made an appearance and wrote down the two letters. She smiled, thank god the cut was not made in vain. She started thinking now of all the words. Still nothing until one popped into her mind but she didn't want to say anything just yet. She had to be careful, she already had the rope and head, who knows what could be next.
She sighed and looked at Dorian. "I think I may have an idea of what my word might be but i'm not so sure." She said quietly "But i'm not going to risk it just yet. Any idea of what yours might be?" She said then looked back at the screen. "Ok I choose the letter C" Katherine was confident with her choice. Was pure confidence or fake confidence to fool herself to thinking she would be ok.

Two letters were written; this time, the voice did not speak again. Good, he preferred it much better when she remained good and quiet. He knew this entire situation was life-threatening, he did not need a constant reminder.
His eyes went from one unfinished word to the other, eyebrows furrowed in thought, stopping longer on Katherine’s before getting back to his. Could it be… Hesitation filled him suddenly. What should he do, so far in the game? What should he guess next? Katherine apparently didn’t want to cut herself again, and was resulting to guessing normally once more. He briefly wondered if he would get the chance to disinfect her wound before this ended. Should he keep up his technic? She seemed rather confident in her word, judging by the way she was speaking.
“Any idea of what yours might be?” she asked. Dorian pursed his lips, not looking at her. “I think I may have an idea.” He spoke and held his breath. He hoped he wasn’t being foolish. “Schnitzel.”

"Hmm," the woman in navy blue robe smirked and furrowed her eyebrows when Mr. Blund said his guess out loud. She nodded and walked out of the room. So shall it be. She was a good fit for him. Despite her disobedient nature at least she had some nice hips. Plus, one way or another, she will learn how to behave.
Meanwhile the blonde and the raven-haired could see new letters appear on the list. A lot of new letters. First, the woman spelled the word Dorian has pronounced a second ago - schnitzel. Next to it the woman filled in the second word that belonged to Katherine - artichoke. And then the hand disappeared.
Deadly silence hung in the air. Moments passed until... Cling. They heard a sound of metal across the marble floor coming from one of the wooden doors. Somebody passed two keys. One big and one smaller one.
"Congratulations, Dorian," the young female voice proclaimed, "Please, take the keys and the knife and proceed to open the door to claim your 'prize'."
